Dois anos depois, gravou com o Jean Luc Ponty álbum The Jean-Luc Ponty experiência com George Duke Trio. O ensemble cumpriu algumas datas na Costa Oeste americana e, numa delas, Duke foi seguido atentamente, na assistência, por Cannonball Adderley e Frank Zappa.
N º s anos Revised, ambos de com tocou regularmente (ouvimo-lo UO de vingança em Chunga apóstrofo, de Zappa), iniciou uma banda com Billy Cobham, trabalhou com Sonny Rollins, e começou a colocar-se um solo enquanto nomo destacado jazz de fusão, bem próximo fervor funk que, recordava, ó havia marcado desde criança enquanto frequentador da igreja local em San Rafael. Álbuns como liberto as fantasias ou alcance das cimentaram o seu estatuto e canções como vara Dukey asseguraram seria disco pelas gerações Revised.
